Sparkling light

23Aug2015
Sunset was still more than half an hour away, but because of the steep slope of this mountainside, the sun had effectively set. Then as the color started to fade, for a few moments there was a magic light, a sparkling that seemed to spill from the top of the ridge down through the trees. It seemed as if the sun had split into pieces and was shining through each tree. I have seen many sunsets, but never one like this with the light seeming to come from so many different directions, sculpted by the mountain and the leaves. It felt like a gift from the forest.
