Shortly after dawn this morning the sun had dramatic sun rays also known as crepuscular rays since they tend to form at dawn and dusk. The Smoky Mountains are visible almost as shadows in the early morning light.

In a North Carolina garden this honeybee has just launched from the Spirea flowers. I shot at 1/400 to get the flower and part of the bee in focus but to blur the wings.
